How to Set Up 4G WiFi on Your Construction Site

To set up your Bytes Digital 4G WiFi solution on your construction site, follow these instructions below.

1. Unbox your router

Open the box and unpack your provisioned router, along with the power cable and aerials. If you’ve opted for an external antenna, you will need to unpack this too.

2. Screw in the WiFi antennae

Just as above, attach the two WiFi antennae to the back of the router by screwing them in. Take care not to cross thread the connection.

3. Screw in the mobile antennae

Attach the two mobile antennae to the back of the router by screwing them in. Take care not to cross-thread the connection.

If you have opted for the external mobile antenna, you will need to screw in one end of the cables provided in place of the small mobile antennae (scroll down for instructions on how to install the external antenna).

4. Position the antennae

Carefully adjust the antennae to ensure that they are spread out equally for maximum coverage.

5. Insert the power cable

Connect the WiFi router to a power outlet using the cable provided. The power cable plug into the front of the router.

6. Wait for signal

When switched on, the lights will illuminate. Wait until the lights underneath the signal bars have changed to green.

7. Connect to the network

Using the provided WiFi password, connect your devices to the network.

Installing the antennae

If you have opted for self-installation, follow these steps to install your external antenna.

1. Attach your antennae to the wall

Using the bracket and 4 bolts provided, attach your external antenna to the wall outside of your cabin or building. Ensure it is head-height or above for maximum signal strength.

2. Screw the cables into the antenna

Attach the end of the provided cables to the antenna.
