‍Light Up Bristol was a Christmas light trail event at Ashton Court in Bristol. The event ran for five weeks and was attended by thousands of visitors across the Christmas period.

Brief

Fresh Productions came to Bytes Digital looking for reliable and cost-effective internet connectivity at their Light Up Bristol event. With no fixed line option available, and the event taking place in an outdoor area, they could not use traditional WiFi systems.

Fresh Productions aimed to provide their vendors with internet connectivity, for both card payments and general data usage.

Our Solution

Our technical team conducted a thorough on-site survey of the location, providing a detailed breakdown our proposed solution to Fresh Productions.

With everything finalised, our engineers attended site to install and test Light Up Bristol’s event WiFi solution, which included:

Custom-built, temporary WiFi hire equipment
Unlimited 4G data for the duration of the event
A WiFi network for vendors at the event to connect their card machines and take payments over a secure connection
WiFi coverage for multiple areas, with a seamless mesh network for vendors
Fully managed equipment and remote support provided by our in-house team for the entire event
Dual SIM and built-in failover across multiple networks

Once installed, our event WiFi solution provided the vendors with robust and secure internet connectivity during the event. This allowed them to reliably take card payments and provide a safer, contactless and seamless experience for guests.
