Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Club has a proud history and it’s a history celebrated by being part of the ‘1892 Club’. It is the only private members club in the area that offers a great 18-hole course, which is playable all year round. The club offers spectacular views that stretch across the Somerset Blackdown, Mendip Hills and the Somerset Levels, all set within calm and peaceful surroundings.

Before partnering with Bytes, the golf club’s technical needs were fully met, but managing them was becoming increasingly complex.  They were tied into numerous contracts with different providers for various services, creating an admin burden, juggling multiple invoices. On top of that, the occasional provider going out of business meant unexpected service disruptions.

The team were therefore looking for a more streamlined approach - a single, reliable partner to deliver all their services, which is where Bytes Digital stepped in.

• 3CX phone system – A modern, cloud- based telephony solution that improved internal and external communication, offering greater flexibility, call management features and cost savings compared to traditional systems. With the 3CX mobile app, staff can stay connected and take calls from anywhere, ensuring seamless communication beyond their desks. We also integrated the pro shop into the main Golf Club system, helping to reduce overall costs.
• Satellite Internet Access – A reliable connectivity solution to ensure consistent internet access across the site, particularly where fixed-line services were limited. A new Starlink system replaced the older setup, with a 4G EE backup in place due to the poor local broadband, delivering a more stable and resilient connection.

By consolidating all services under one trusted provider, Taunton and Pickeridge Golf Cub has transformed the way they manage their technology. What was once a complex and time-consuming setup involving multiple suppliers, is now a streamlined, reliable solution that supports both staff and members.

With improved connectivity, flexible communication tools and simplified billing, the club can now focus on delivering a great experience on and off the course.
