This guide shows you how to enable the automatic answer feature on your Yealink T46.

This guide will show you how to enable automatic answering on your Yealink T46 handset and Bytes Digital VoIP phone system.

The auto answer feature does exactly what it says on the tin. It automatically answers any incoming calls without the need to pick up the handset or press the answer key. It can be useful for reception staff or call centres that are make lots of calls every day.


Enabling automatic answer


1. Press the menu soft key

Access the phones menu using the right hand soft key.


2. Scroll to features

Using the arrow keys, scroll to ‘features’ and press OK.


3. Select auto answer

Select option 1, labeled as auto answer and press OK.


4. Select your extension number

Your extension will be shown in the list (it may be the only one there). Select it with the OK key.


5. Enable auto answer

Using the right arrow key, enable the auto answer feature.


6. Press the save soft key

To save your changes, press the left hand soft key. A popup will appear saying ‘Saving config file!’. Once it has disappeared, you know that the auto answer is enabled.


7. Return to the home screen

Press the back soft key multiple times to return to the main home screen. You will now see a red ‘AA’ icon at the top of the screen highlighting that auto answer has been enabled.


Disabling automatic answer


1. Press the menu soft key

Access the phones menu using the right hand soft key.


2. Scroll to features

Using the arrow keys, scroll to ‘features’ and press OK.


3. Select auto answer

Select option 1, labeled as auto answer and press OK.


4. Select your extension number

Your extension will be shown in the list (it may be the only one there). Select it with the OK key.


5. Disable auto answer

Using the left arrow key, disable the auto answer feature.


6. Press the save soft key

To save your changes, press the right hand soft key. A popup will appear saying ‘Saving config file!’. Once it has disappeared, you know that the auto answer is disabled.


7. Return to the home screen

Press the back soft key multiple times to return to the main home screen.
